Introduction to Computer 3D Modeling
This course teaches you the fundamentals of 3D modeling. You will learn the basic skills of 3D modeling that will allow you to start creating, and then decide which particular industry you want to apply it to. When this course is offered there will be separate sessions (free of charge) on weekends that introduce students how to do 3D printing or import their 3D models into a virtual environment (VR). Welcome to your 3D modeling program. This course course is taught by an accomplished 3D Model Artist, Drew Daleo, who is also passionate about teaching! The Youth Mixed Reality Development program focuses on 3D modeling skills which can be used in a variety of industries such as: Virtual Reality, 3D printing, architecture, aerospace, film production, automobile, etc.
While the Instructor is proficient with a variety of industry-standard 3D modeling tools, this courses focus on Blender, the free and open-source software suite that you can download at no cost and start using today. This way our students can continue to develop on the skills they will learn without the need to pay for any software license. Plus Blender is a powerful application, which students will discover during the course!
Students will enjoy a fun course while learning valuable concepts and skills that stay with them throughout their lives.
Learners will explore axis of the Cartesian coordinate system X, Y, Z. Participants will discover the exciting world of 3D space and learn to construct and edit fundamental objects. Exploration will create fundamental knowledge of 3D that will form the foundation for multiple filed of discipline, thus opening the door to a number of potential careers.
1. Introduction to basic 3D concepts, and the X, Y, Z coordinate system.
2. Explore the principles of 3-dimensional design.
3. Cover core topics of 3D objects. Break down object anatomy, and component sub-structure.
4. Explore principles of constructing 3D primitive shapes and more complex objects.
5. Introduction to UV mapping.
6. Cover basic material creation and object assignment.
This is a 1-day intensive course with no pre-requisites.
